ELSANEK is the brand of smart fabrics by JONEL, a company in Barcelona (Spain) specialised in manufacturing and innovating technical threads and fabrics.
Born of a family with a long tradition in the textile sector, JONEL was the second generation’s innovative commitment, from research and technology to manufacturing fabrics that respond to the current and future needs of the healthcare sector, clean rooms, laboratories, food, etc.
With over 50 years of experience and an uncompromising commitment to technology, ELSANEK has become the flagship of the company. A fusion of tradition and innovation has made ELSANEK a European leader in technical healthcare fabrics that really make a difference.
OUR BACKGROUND
2004
Jonel SL was established as a manufacturer of sewing threads with inox fibres for specific applications. Investment in a 500 m2 industrial warehouse and machinery for the first part of the process.
2006
Elsanek originally came into being as a range of smart fabrics for the healthcare and laboratories market. Our objective: to produce extra safe fabrics that reduce the risk of bacterial infections and are hypoallergenic, antistatic, reusable and highly cost effective. Jonel went beyond the health regulations and became the first manufacturer with products of this type on the market.
2008
Elsanek was registered as a trademark to market these smart fabrics for use in healthcare and laboratories.
2010
New investment in machinery to complete the weaving process.
2012
First Elsanek fabric exports.
2014
Expanding manufacturing space in a new 300 m2 building.
2017
Reorganising and strengthening our business department to begin a new phase of expansion.
2020
COVID-19 pandemic: Elsanek fabrics have boosted the safety, cost-effectiveness and sustainability of all the sectors where they are used.
